Among Rotary Club Caransebeș’s most important achievements is the Global Grant for the Caransebeș Municipal Emergency Hospital — a large-scale effort that brought concrete investment, essential equipment and real support for medical care to the community.
With an approved budget of USD 75,850, the project was delivered by Rotary Club Caransebeș together with partner clubs from Germany, Belgium, Austria and Serbia and the local authorities. The hospital received:
- 15 computers;
- 15 multifunction printers;
- a defibrillator;
- furniture and medical equipment.
Launched in 2018, the project was also supported by fundraisers such as the “Charity Goulash” and “A cup for EXCELLENCE”. In February 2019, two truckloads of furniture and medical equipment were donated to the hospital.
A defining moment was the handover of a Storz bronchoscope worth 148,000 lei on 21 February 2019. With this investment, the club directly increased the hospital’s medical capacity and patients’ access to better examinations and procedures.
The Global Grant remains one of the clearest examples of how solidarity, international cooperation and local involvement can produce lasting results for the whole community.
